S1365 pci-scsi (ncr 875 based) card

S1365 pci-scsi (ncr 875 based) card

Post by Jim R » Wed, 08 Jan 1997 04:00:00

I just purchased an asus board and an S1365 noname ncr 875 scsi card.
Assuming that I could boot from floppy and see the disk, I used the
scsinet boot (as well as the n_53c7xx.s) one.

When the system comes up the on-board bios sees the drive and scsi
card.  When booting starts, I get this:

Unknown PCI device (1000:F) ...

... more booting

Then it gets to:

NCR53c406a No available ports found
SCSI: 0 hosts
SCSI: detected total

There is a WORKING disk connected to it.  I checked all termination
issues and all is well.

The Unknown PCI devices bothers me since 1000 is suppose to be NCR.

I need to determine if the scsi card is not functioning (since it was
beat-up by the shipping company) or if it is indeed a driver issue --
which sounds more reasonable..

Any IDEAS?  I need to determine this pretty quickly.

Thanks,
