Two cards video and two monitors

Two cards video and two monitors

Post by celenta » Thu, 19 Nov 1998 04:00:00

I have a computer with two cards Video, one it is the AGP Matrox G200 and
the other one it is the S3 Virge/DX PCI. I desire to use the card PCI in
Linux and the card AGP in Windows98, at least up to when the driver linux
won't go out for G200; to get the described result I have shaped the BIOS
in way that the primary card is the AGP.
In environment Linux I desire to have the graphic part on the monitor
connected to the card PCI, while the part to characters on the monitor
connected to the card AGP, for this purpose I have used the server XF86_S3
(besides in relief automatically from the Redhat 5.0), but when I launch
this to X he doesn't succeed in finding the monitor and therefore it
doesn't depart.
What must I do?
Thanks
bye, Joseph

I can't help with the two video card configuration but I found drivers for
G200 which work fine on Redhat 5.1 and 5.2 for me.
http://www.matroxusers.com/Driver/Linux/xmatrox-2_2-0_i386.rpm
http://www.matroxusers.com/Driver/Linux/xsuseconfig.tgz

Good luck,
Chris

I have two monitors, a Compaq 171FS and a Acerview 76i

I would like tobe abel to use both at the same time, like a dual head
