If you mean you want something similar but with your own kernel on it, do
the following:

mount your bare.i disk, for example:

mount -t minix /dev/fd0 /floppy

Then you will notice it has some directories on it, and it has a
/etc/lilo.conf.

Copy your /vmlinuz to /floppy/vmlinuz
Then edit /floppy/etc/lilo.conf if you want to add "append=blah, blah" for
any unusual ethernet card, cdu31a, or whatever.
Then run rdev as follows:

cd /floppy                #just for easier typing
rdev -r /vmlinuz 49152    #this makes it load a ramdisk from a roodtdisk
rdev -R /vmlinuz 1        #makes it mount the ramdisk
rdev /vmlinuz /dev/fd0    #for ramdisk it will be temporarily floppy

Install LILO with the -r switch:

lilo -r /floppy           #installs the floppy LILO

Be sure ramdisk support is compiled into the kernel that you intend to use
here.

If you want it to just mount your real system instead of loading a
rootdisk, then skip the rdev stuff and just copy /vmlinuz and run "lilo -r
/floppy"

Neil.

How can I create a bootdisk, that can replace the SLackware ones,
ie it asks for the normal Slackware Rootdisks.. I cannot figure out
how to tell it to ask for the ramdisk diskette..
