Can anyone point me to a howto doc on setting up a ph server under
I had some problems getting perl stuff working so this may
help some other folks.
After installing perl - 5.005_02 - on my SUN (sun4u sparc SUNW,
Ultra-5_10,pci stuff) running Solaris 7 (either as a package from
www.sunfreeware.com or from a tar.gz)
I ran h2ph :
cd /usr/include; h2ph * sys/*
h2ph is a bit buggy so I had to some
perl -pi -e 's/""/"/g' on many .ph files in
(two " instead of one)
After trying to run a given perl script I had the following error reported :
ISA not supported at
/usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/sun4-solaris/sys/isa_defs.ph line 82.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at Utils.pm line 20.
To solve this I had to manually edit isa_defs.ph.
(still not sure of all parameters but It seems to work now)
I hope that these problems will be fixed in perl's next release.
BTW am I the only one to face this problems ?
