Hi there,
has anybody had a problem running linux on an Intel DX4 100 OD?
I have both Win 95 and one of the lastest slakware versions of linux and the
Win 95 works fine but linux soon hangs. If I put the previously installed DX33
back in every thing seems to be fine. I was wondering if it might have some thing
to do with the fact that the on baord voltage regulator interfers with the signal
generation for other devices such as the VLB graphics card since it does not
immediately respond when the machine is started from cold - but does come to life
after several presses of the reset button. Again the graphics card is fine with
the DX33. the trouble is I can't decide if it is a hardware fault with the chip,
or, ignoring the boot problem, if it is a problem with linux.
Any ideas? Should I just trade the DX 4 100 for something else or is it fixable?
many thanks
Roger
