I installed WindowMaker under Suse Linux 7.1 using the following
commands:
./configure
make
make install
ldconfig
su root
make install
wmaker.inst
Then I typed "startx" and bingo, I'm in WindowMaker.
After I go back to the command line and try to restart WindowMaker,
lets say after a reboot, it does not work. It'll go to a screen with
that grey pattern, and nothing else (no WMaker icon in the upper left
hand corner), and the immediately quit and tell me about some error
and WMaker files not in some directory. But they must have been there
since it worked before, right?
What am I to do?
Thanks.
