WHen building lilo from setup, choose the OS you use most of the time
first - then if you don't intervene, it will boot the default. You can
always change the order later - using vi on the /etc/lilo.conf file.

You put the program and kernel image in a DOS directory and execute a
batch file (set to run in DOS mode) similar to the following:
"C:\LOADLINX\LOADLIN C:\LOADLINX\ZIMAGE root=/dev/hda2 ro"
(/dev/hda2 is my Linux partition)
The PC then reboots into Linux. When I'm finished with Linux, I
reboot and Win95 starts back up.
BTW- Does anyone know if LOADLIN works with Red Hat?

I am doing the same thing, I know you can use a BootManager (Pretty much
every os has one) I am going to use LILO which comes with your
particular Linux and offers to install it for you. I know Dos (Win95
too) won't allow you to boot a partition unless it is on the first HD, I
think the LILO will let you...

1. Setup Linux kernel in win95 PC
Sorry to disappoint you, but that download was wasted.
While you got the kernel sources within that .tar.gz or .tar.Z
file, this is basically useless, unless you want to study the
sources alone. You'll need a CDROM with a complete distribution
to get Linux up and running.
Oh, if all you wanted was looking at the sources, search
the web for a DOS version for the needed archive and compression
method used on the file. Lookout for "gtar.exe" and "gzip.exe".
