IBM 770 Display Problem RH 6.2

Post by Steve » Sun, 31 Dec 1899 09:00:00

I am installed RedHat 6.2 on an IBM Thinkpad 770. The install process had
the correct version of the video driver by default, but after the install,
only the command line part of the OS started.  Also, when I login and type
xterm, it tells me the the video driver will not load.

What steps do I take to fix this?

Thanks in Advance, Steve

Thanks, startx works after I ran Xconfigurator, and hacked the correct video
settings (guessed) that is was the high-end, with a refresh rate of 50-90.
Also, it was nice that the OS probed the color card, since it is a laptop,
and found it to be a Trident.
