can't host a site using dynamic ip address?

Post by Chris A. Matting » Mon, 09 Sep 2002 03:29:52

I just have to hop into this thread to set something straight.  It
appears that Vicki didn't want the world to know which dyndns.org site
she had registered and just "picked" "mysite.dyndns.org".  However,
"mysite.dyndns.org" is mine.

So to set things straight, I know how to fix this problem, and Vicki
just picked my hostname and did not give out her own.  And to the
person who posted my resume -- compare the names next time!

1. Can't ping the host name or host IP address from host.

Hello there,
I have the unusual problem of not being able to ping the machines host name
or host IP address from the host.
I've checkout the network settings and I can't seem to find any problems.  I
am able to ping & telnet to the machine
from the network.  Seems quite strange.

Any help would be really appreciated.

thanks,

Owen.
