Archive QIC-02 tape unit

Post by Jan van Gi » Tue, 07 Nov 1995 04:00:00

Hi,

I am trying to configure my Linux kernel so it will work with my archive
SC402 controller, but I have some problems with this.

The make config command tells me to change the port, int and dma settings
in the ??qic-2.h file in the dir. ./include/linux.
I tryed this but the make dep command gives an error.
It wants a good setting for QIC-02_xxx_TAPE and QIC-02_xxx_IFC.

Can somebody tell me how it should be done.

Thanks and see you an the NET.

I have been trying to get a qic-02 tape backup unit to work with
no success.   each attemp at access results in an I/O error -

/var/adm shows this when doing a mt -f /dev/rmt8 status

I have  experimented with the timing values in tpqic02.h and tpqic02.c with no
success.
The interface card is an 8 bit card, an archive sc400.
I am running at port 0x380,irq 7, dma 3

Running Slackware 3.0

Any suggestions on getting this to work will be appricated.

Thanks
