I have been using linux kernel version 1.09, quite happily
for the last 4 months until this morning.
During boot-up from a floppy this is the error message - and UNABLE to
continue..

If this error mesg means anything to you, then PLizzZZZ email to me.
Otherwise, It seems like I have lost a couple of weeks work and have to install
the whole lot again.
