CirQue "Input Center" with Glidepoint--Help!!!

Post by Bill Shield » Thu, 18 Sep 1997 04:00:00

I have a CirQue Input Center keyboard with the glidepoint touchpad.  My
problem is the sensitivity.  I have to scroll across the pad ten times
to get to the other side of the screen.  I have looked for FAQs and any
docs concerning meeses, but have found nothing.  Does anyone know how
to  configure?  Is there a difference between sensitivity and
resolution?  Any help will be greatly appreciate.  By the way the
keyboard RULES.

It is the best thing!  I have a Cirque as well.  ; )

Back to your problem.  I only know how to speed it up when you are in X.
If someone knows how to do the same thing in regular prompt, I would
really like to know.

issue command at shell prompt
    xset m 8 3

this tells your computer to speed up the mouse by 8 times and 'brake' with
3.  That is, when you move your finger slowly, speed up mouse by 5 times
b/c (well. you do your own math!).  Try different number and see how you
like it

I put the commend in my    /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xinit/xinitrc   which looks
like the following:
##############################################################
#!/bin/sh
# $XConsortium: xinitrc.cpp,v 1.4 91/08/22 11:41:34 rws Exp $

userresources=$HOME/.Xresources
usermodmap=$HOME/.Xmodmap
sysresources=/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xinit/.Xresources
sysmodmap=/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xinit/.Xmodmap

# merge in defaults and keymaps

if [ -f $sysresources ]; then
    xrdb -merge $sysresources
fi

if [ -f $sysmodmap ]; then
    xmodmap $sysmodmap
fi

if [ -f $userresources ]; then
    xrdb -merge $userresources
fi

if [ -f $usermodmap ]; then
    xmodmap $usermodmap
fi

# start some nice programs

fvwm95-2 &
xset +dpms
xset dpms 600 900 1200
xset m 8 3
# xclock -geometry 50x50-1+0 &
xterm -geometry 83x25+494+350 &
xterm -geometry 83x25+494+0 &
exec xterm -geometry 80x54+0+0 -name login
