Hi All;
I recently updated my kernel from V1.3.20 (Slackware 3.0) to V2.0.29
which I downloaded and compiled. Right away I also had to update my
pppd (v2.2.0f) and procps (1.01 I think). Any way, all my current
functionality is restored BUT ...
As a sound test I keep a shell script which plays Linus Torvalds
pronouncing Linux ... 'cp english.au /dev/audio'. It WAS quite a
stunning demo.
Under V1.3.20, Linus sounds like he's in the room ... very clear and
rich. Now, under V2.0.29 it sounds like he is talking through 2 tin
cans and a string ... scratch, hollow ...
I maintained a double boot lilo system (just in case) ... even now, if
I boot V1 its great V2 sounds terrible!
Has any one else experienced this ... and even more important anyone
have some tips to fix it.
Thanks in advance for ANY assistance.
