I have a "no name" sound card installed -- all I know about it is what
the BIOS reports on booting up:
Card01: OPTi Audio 16
I have looked at the card itself, but there are no markings on it that
would reveal what brand it is. Can anyone tell from this information
if the card is supported under Redhat 5.0 or 5.1? I haven't had any
luck getting it to work under 5.0. I'm considering upgrading to 5.1
if it will help.
When I rebuild the kernel to include sound support, I get the
following errors when I do a "make modules_install":
installing modules under /lib/modules/2.0.32/block
installing modules under /lib/modules/2.0.32/net
installing modules under /lib/modules/2.0.32/ipv4
installing modules under /lib/modules/2.0.32/fs
installing modules under /lib/modules/2.0.32/cdrom
cp: sound_syms.o: No such file or directory
installing modules under /lib/modules/2.0.32/misc
Is this error familiar to someone?
