Why doesn't pkgtool work to install software off of the second cdrom for slackware 3.2?

I want to be able to install the software off of the second cdrom of
slackware 3.2
When I tried to use setup with the pkgtool option it would not let me.
First when I go to select the media on wich I want to install from which is
the cdrom I hit enter on the cdrom and I get a meassage saying unable to
find cdrom make shure it is mounted beneath /cdrom and I checked to make
shure and it is mounted beneath /cdrom well at least I can see all the
software in my cdrom when I type cd /cdrom
ls this command shows everything on the cdrom. Is your cdrom supposed to be
read only? I then went to pkgtool man page, did not help. Why can I see the
software on my cdrom but when I go into setup and select my cdrom as the
install media it can't find it. It also states that /cdrom/slackware is
directory given. I have been trying for ever to get this to work and just
can't. Can't you type in
install /cdrom/communications/slirp  /Communications? I really hope
somebody
can help.
