Hi there,
I have problem in booting my Linux system after the
installation. I have tried the slackware and the
redhat linux (Dec 1996) with no luck.
The linux boot up process reports
" 03:02: rw:0,want=2, limit=0
EXT2-fs: Unable to read superblock
attempt to access beyond end of device
FAT bread failed.
The above message repeats with the EXT2-fs replaced
by MINIS-fs.
The last message is
"isofs_read_super: bread failed, dev 03:02 iso_blknum 16 block 32
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 03:02"
What's that mean? and why can't I mount root fs?
My system configuration is
"486 AMD-5x86-133, 16MB RAM, 1 540MB IDE harddisk"
I have used IDE cache controller and my CMOS setup for
the hardisk type is "1" which allow the cache controller
to autodetect the harddisk.
The cache controller detected "1048C, 16H, 63S" for my harddisk.
My harddisk partition is
For Dos : 1st 150MB
For Linux : 1st 30MB for /
2nd 300M for /usr
3nd 16MB for swap
Any suggestion to cure my problem is highly appreciated :)
Thank you very much
Dominic
