*NEW* Linux FAQ for newbies & wannabes

*NEW* Linux FAQ for newbies & wannabes

Post by Artur Swietanowsk » Sun, 31 Dec 1899 09:00:00

Hello Everyone,

After a few weeks of furious development & field testing, I decided
it's time to announce it formally:

My all new Linux FAQ has been created and is available from my
  home page
     http://www.bigfoot.com/~swietanowski --> "My Linux FAQ"
  or directly
     http://www.bigfoot.com/~swietanowski/LinuxFAQ/
It is meant to be useful to new Linux users, as well as people
who consider trying Linux but are undecided and want to know what
  to expect.

I realized, I end up answering the same questions on news groups over
and over again. It gets boring after a while, as you might imagine.
The answers I put up there are (hopefully) more comprehensive,
carefully worded and in general better than what you might expect me
to post just off the top of my head.

The collection is expanding and getting reorganized. If you have
proposals for new entries (either ones that you'd be willing to
contribute, or ones you'd like me to prepare), I will be glad to hear
from you. All input is appreciated, both positive and critical.
The positive comments make me feel better, the negative ones help
me improve my page ;-)

I'm not trying to replace the "official" Linux FAQs maintained by
the Linux Documentation Project.

NOTE: When bookmarking, use the redirector address given above and
not the actual page address. I am looking for another web hosting
service and will move sooner or later (unless the current host,
Crosswinds, will improve their web page maintenence facilities).

Regards,
