Gentlemen,

If you configure the card as a SoundBlaster, 0x0220, 5, 1 all will be
well.

Details on my home page http://www.pobox.com/~gedau under "Resources" Some of
the info is dated though.

Off Topic: How do you reply to the dejanews posted articles via e-mail. For
instance a lot of people ask FAQs, and when I try to e-mail solutions to
them the E-mail bounces with something like "the sender has gone and this
cant be delivered". I am not going to post answers to FAQs on the newsgroups,
so how do others reply to such postings? Do you just ignore anthing posted
from dejanews??

(I tried to e-mail the poster who started this thread, and answer their
question, but could not).

Wouldn't it be better if these dejanews posters did a search for their FAQs
while they were there before posting? What do others think?

1. ESS Audiodrive ESS-1868 PnP w/ linux

Hey eveybody

I've got an ESS Audiodrive ESS-1868 plug-n-play soundcard.  I seem to
recall having had it work previously with linux just by specifying in
the kernel, SB16, IO=220, IRQ=7, DMA=1, MPU_IO=330 etc...but now it's
not so easy.  I'll probably have to do something like a pnpdump and all
that jazz, but i'm kind of new to pnp under linux, so i thought I'd save
the trouble by checking here...

Anyone sucecssfully setup this card under linux?  if so can you email me
pertinent info, like isapnp.conf settings, kernel config settings etc?
I miss it when asmail plays the gong when i get mail :-(

thanks,
scott
