slackware kernel recompile

Post by Mark Glassbe » Thu, 18 Jul 1996 04:00:00

What is the /usr/src/linux/vmlinuz file produced when I recompile
a zImage?  Is it an uncompiled version of the new kernel?

1. Where are Slackware kernel recompile tools?

I've downloaded and installed the Slackware 2.0.0 release. I have a problem,
however, with my mouse needs to be on IRQ 3 instead of IRQ 5 (which is, I
believe, what is compiled into the kernel). The Mouse FAQ tells how to do the
recompile, but I don't seem to have MAKE among the files that I installed (I
installed the A and AP disk sets). Can someone point me to the appropriate
tools and the 1.0.9 source code?

Thanks--
