Redhat 5.2 Server vs Workstation: Anyone using the server out there???
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a pretty basic quesiton and a problem I've had with many
installs in the past. (i.e. Redhat 3.0.3 thru 5.1)

Question I'm looking to have answered:
"What server software is installed when you use this option?"

In the past I've had to manually install the:
FTP server
POP3 mail server
(In fact the pop3 server was not even on the CDs and I even got the
        powertools disk set)
and some other programs. (I forget the exact names)

Anyhow, can anyone tell me what installs by default and what else one
can choose from?

Thanks,
Ken

(Pls reply or at least cc: me via email)

I think server install everything. You can always do a custom install and handpick exactly
what you want installed. I do this everytime just because it saves space and I get exactly
what I want. It only takes about 10 extra minutes (assuming you know what most of the
packages are/do). BTW previous versions of redhat do come with a pop3 mail server, however
its sort of hidden. Its included with the imap rpm, and most people don't install that.
