Redhat 7.1: How to startup Disk Druid?

Post by Huy V » Fri, 18 May 2001 10:05:31

Hi all,

I have nice GUI (Disk Druid) to do the partition of disk in the installation
of Redhat 7.1 but after the installation done, I don't know where the Disk
Druid command to run again. I have to use fdisk/cfdisk to modify the
partitions.

Does someone know where it stays?

Thanks in advance for any help.

this is a Huy Vu scroll!  it says:

man locate

if that doesn't work you can always brute force it:

find /etc -type f | grep diskdruid

1. redhat disk druid won't use 2nd disk

I have system commander on this system, and it's giving
me fits, as well, but....

when i try to install redhat 5.2 (the kind you buy
in the store--not downloaded) the *%$**&^* install
business claims hdd (i guess the zip drive) is not
ready, so i tell it to skip the disk, but then it
won't look at the second IDE disk i've put on the
machine.

i tried using fdisk, but i cannot decipher what
i'm supposed to be telling it--namely, are eacy
of these partitions things like /, /usr, swap,
or is it a "great big linux area" which will later
be chopped into /, /usr, swap....

disk druid won't let me highlight the second (hdb)
disk.  i can arrow down to hda, but not hdb.
any way to deal with that?

i've had solaris installed on this disk, so i know
i can make the thing function properly.  but yanking
the disk cable to do the install seems like it ought
not be necessary.

grumble, grumble.
