I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this...
Thanks to a LOT of help, I (mostly) have Hylafax working on my Dell machine.
It RECEIVES just fine, but when it tries to TRANSMIT, it dies with a PHASE
B transmit error. When I look in the log files, everything looks great
until it starts gabbing with the receiving machine, and then I get a SLEW
of control codes spitting out.
It looks a lot to me like this is a problem with my modem initialization
string... but wouldn't that also cause reception to fail? I'm using one
of the new USR voice-fax modems (33.6 I think). It's probably pnp, although
who knows?
Anyone have a clue about this?
Please reply via e-mail... over the last week or so my news server seems t
have deleted the .comp.os.linux groups several times... so I am not convinced
of reliability... besides
which I'm using a new newsreader that I don't have quite configured yet... :)
Thank you!
