I lost DNS configuration, Apache configuration, Samba (although,
granted, I use SWAT), and service management (although that seems to be
covered now by ntsysv and xinetd).

Why?!?!  What the heck happened?!?  The DNS config tool was actually
really ggod under 6.2!  Going back to editing by hand sucks!

What's up with THAT?!?!

I want to configure sendmail in linuxconf (or netconf), as I did in
RedHat 6.2... They seem to have taken that out as well. Bug or feature?

Someone that calls himself "Arch" anything shouldnt need GUI tools :-)
Gimme a break with the credentials. As I'm sure that someone with all those
credentials
would never just upgrade a production system to an *.0 distribution without
fully
testing it first whats the big deal? Keep using 6.2 and wait for 7.1 or
7.2.
Incidentally, the C compiler is also broken, I hope you werent planning to
build a custom kernel.

Anyone really interested can read all about it in the
muc.lists.linux-kernel news group.  I wouldn't subscribe unless I had a
very large mail box.

Install kgcc from the first CD.

Broken indeed! In fact I only tried g++ and it gave some errors with
templates. However, I installed the compat-egcs, compat-egcs-c++, and
dependencies and all was well (as expected, because egcs worked with RH6.2).

This doesn't say too much about the quality of the RH cert courses, does
it?

Is it possible that you simply need to configure the modules that
linuxconf manages?

never been that fond of linuxconf.
