Problem with NCSA httpd 1.4.1 and new kernel (1.3.45, 1.3.48)

I just installed the new kernel (both 1.3.45 and 1.3.48)
but my NCSA httpd stopped to work. (it closes the connection).

It seems a problem on line 123 of util.c, the read(f,&s[i],1) which
read from socket f (==0) always return -1 and errno=EINVAL

why ?

Any ideas? Seen this junk before? ksyms also gave me a warning during
make dep, presumably for the same reason.

Note: I'm d/l'ing libc 5.2.18 and ld.so 1.7.14 right now, will this help?
