hi everybody,

i'm using a canon bjc4300 printer under linux and i want to change print
quality. (bebian 2.1, magicfilter).

my question
how can i control the printer quality (draft, medium, high)???

thanks for helping

christian graf

the printcap looks like:

lp|bjc4000|bjc4000:\
        :lp=/dev/lp1:sd=/var/spool/lpd/bjc4000:\
        :sh:pw#80:pl#72:px#1440:mx#0:\
        :if=/etc/magicfilter/bj600-filter:\
        :af=/var/log/lp-acct:lf=/var/log/lp-errs:

the magicfilter looks like
#! /usr/sbin/magicfilter
#
# Magic filter setup file for Canon BubbleJet 200
# THIS FILE IS UNTESTED!
#
# This file is in the public domain.
#
# This file has been automatically adapted to your system.

1. escape sequence needed for printer

First of all i'm sorry for posting this here 'cause there must be better
groups for my question, but when i tried comp.laser.printer it did nothing
( no messages ! )

The problem is i'm using a HP Laser 4plus and trying to print an ordinary
text file which is produced by a program in C. I give an escape sequence
for 132 columns and it just prints the normal way. I tried an escape
sequence i found in a post somewhere on the net. When i try the sequence
for bold it turns ok, but the condensed 132 col's doesn't work at all. Any
sugestions ?

Please help me ! Than in advance !
