On my system, this is done in /etc/rc.d/rc.serial (the following is a
much abbreviated version of this file):

SETSERIAL="/bin/setserial -abv"
AUTO_IRQ=auto_irq
${SETSERIAL} /dev/cua0 ${AUTO_IRQ} autoconfig spd_hi
${SETSERIAL} /dev/cua1 ${AUTO_IRQ} autoconfig

As you may already see, my modem is on cua0, and it's a 14400 which I run
at 38400.  My mouse is on cua1.

Hi folks.

I read in an AIX newsgroup a while ago that there was a way to fake
AIX into giving you faster com ports (like 57600 or higher).  I didn't
save the message so I can't provide any detailes.  Is there a way to
do this in Linux?

1. How do I reset the serial speed on my system?

When I installed this system I wasn't sure of it's abilities, therefore I set
the speed as 9600 for my serial ports (Slackware 2.3 installation).  Now I
know that it capable of far more, how do I alter the speed, I don't remember
seeing it when re-configuring the kernel for sound support!

Please don't be rude to me and say rtfm (I lent mine out!), and also could
you mail me 'cause I don't often read these groups.

Thanks in advance,

Jim.
