I use SuSE Linux 6.1 (kernel 2.2.5) and I have a Zoltrix Audio Plus 6400 3D
PnP V.5 (ISA) sound card. This sound card is CMI8330 based, and it provides
both MSS(WSS) and SB functions. I have tried following the instructions in
/usr/src/linux/Documentation/sound/CMI8330 and even followed the (after the
CMI8330 way didn't work for me) soundblaster instructions, but nothing seems
to work for me. I have tried compiling the driver into the kernel and also
compiling module support into the kernel. The best I can ever do is getting
mp3s and wavs to "skip" while playing under KDE (using Media Player and
xmms). The sound sounds like a skipping record. Is there something simple
I am missing? I would like to get the sound card working with "normal"
methods, and not use OSS if possible.
Additional notes :
There are no manufacturer provided drivers for linux
I use ISAPNP to configure the card since it is PnP
