SCSI adapter won't recognize HD

Post by Thomas Qwi » Fri, 10 Nov 1995 04:00:00

I have a AHA 1542B clone from Tekram with 8MB of cache that slackware
3.0 doesn't seem to recognize.  I've tried different boot disk and
different boot parameters at the boot prompt---no luck.

Help!!

BTW, the SCSI host adapter from Tekram is the model DC-800B.

Please post. Don't reply by email.  Mailer is a little flaky.

Thanks

1. Linux won't recognize NCR SCSI adapter.

I have an IDE primary hard drive and a SCSI secondary hard drive, but
none of the boot disks will recognize the SCSI (I'm trying to install
Linux onto the SCSI).  I've already installed Linux onto the IDE but
the NCR driver won't recognize the SCSI, plus I'd like to put Linux
on the SCSI since it's much faster and less noisy.  Here are the
stats:

Transfer Type...........PIO          #I suspect this is the problem, since
#all the boot disks are looking for the
                                     #controller's DMA channel.  The DMA
#transfer type is shaded for some
                                     #reason, so I can't enable it.
DMA Channel.............None
BIOS ROM................Enabled
BIOS ROM Address Range..D8000-DFFFFH
Termination.............Enabled
IRQ.....................11
I/O Address.............330-33FH

Is it hopeless or is there some place I can get a driver that will work?
