NFS problem

Post by nurine » Sun, 31 Dec 1899 09:00:00

I had some strange problem that nfs port number is so big!!!

--------this is tcpdump message------
18:05:17.704721 192.168.1.2.1510450557 > 192.168.1.1.nfs: 152 setattr [|nfs]
18:05:17.704721 192.168.1.1.nfs > 192.168.1.2.1510450557: reply ok 28
setattr [|nfs]
----------------------------------

After this problem happened, nfsd sometimes became dead.
I think this is not configuration problem because I use NFS for about 1
years..

My OS version is RedHat 5.2.

Thanks, in advance.

1. NFS Problems... "Unknown NFS client"

Hi!

I have just installed Slackware 2.3 and I'm trying to use NFS
with a Sun.

I can mount drives on the Sun, but the Sun can't mount drives on my
Linux box. I have stripped the /etc/exports file to include only:

/usr/local    *.my.domain(ro)

Yet, I receive messages like this in the syslog on the Linux box:

mount[49]: Unknown NFS client 191.214.xxx.yyy tried to access /usr/local

I have DNS working, and I have tried to put the Sun in my /etc/hosts
file to no avail...

Anyone know what could be wrong?!

Thanks in advance!

   Fredrik Lindgren
