Let say that Stardivision made a strange mess. I downloaded staroffice 5.0
a few months ago (and now enjoy both linux and Win95 versions), and
remember that you needed at this time 3 keys:
- what I called the "installation key", and that should correspond to what
you call ""Personal Key". 22 characters long if I remember.
- Registration key, 28 characters long (oops !)
- Custom number, I think 6 or 7 characters, only numbers.
The 1rst one was needed for the installation, and if I still remember, came
just before the download process. You need the two last ones after you run
the program, to skip from the trial version to the permanent one. They were
sent by email.
I downloaded StarOffice (5.01) again a few days ago to install it on a
friend's computer, and things are a little bit different. You "only" need
the registration key (still 28 characters, but in a xxx-yyy-zzz way) and
the custom number, and you get them just before the download, and as a
confirmation by email.
So if possible, I would recommand you to make a new download... Otherwise,
if you don't remember anything about this installation key, I'm afraid you
are really stumped...
That's all I can offer to help you,
Gilles
