Hello.
I'm currently trying to install Linux Slakware 3.0.0 on my thinkpad
notebook.(thinkpad 701c)
Few days ago, I got a new pcmcia cd-rom (SCSI) from Panasonic.
In that case, what set of boot/root disks should I use?
And if necessary, what kind of parameter should I write to
boot: prompt?

With your ThinkPad 701C you probably have either the KXL-D720 or the
KXL-D740 CD-ROM from Panasonic. If you have the D720, it will *not*
work under Linux. The D740 *is* supported.

Just use the pcmcia kernel and you'll be all set. Linux will auto-detect it,
and it runs just fine!
