mount & umount problems

Post by Kern » Sun, 31 Dec 1899 09:00:00

Hello all,

I upgraded to Mandrake 6.1 on my system by writing over Mandrake 6.0.

Now I am unable to umount & mount my cdrom, floppy, or my msdos partition.
After i run the command it freezes the console.

When looking at the ps -aux it shows that the mount or umount in a D state
(uninterruptable).

When I attempt to kill the (u)mount command, it does nothing, even with a -9.

I kill the parent of the (u)mount & the command moves to the end of the ps list
with no changes (other than the parent being gone).

Any ideas why it is doing this & how can I fix it?
