sndconfig won't help. This utility is used for configuring SoundBlaster
and 100% compatible cards. Even if your card claims to be SB compatible
under DOS, it doesn't mean the same for linux. If your card is SB compatible,
(I guess it's not) you can find out reading
/usr/src/linux/drivers/sound/Readme.cards
and other README files from that directory.
(You've got to have kernel sources installed, or you won't find much there)
If you are lucky and your card is supported, you'll have to recompile
kernel with your card support enabled. If you won't find any information
on your card, try http://www.se.opensound.com/linux.html
