Matrox Millennium G200 AGP on Slackware?

Does anybody know haw to get the above graphics card
to work on Slackware 3.5.

Have fetched a number of drivers/updates from ftp.xig.com
and tired the instructions under the readme files:

=========================================================
 download D4102.001.tar.gz and place in the directory /usr/X11R6/lib/X11

    unix-prompt> cd /usr/X11R6/lib/X11
    unix-prompt> tar xvzf D4102.001.tar.gz
    unix-prompt> rm AcceleratedX/boards/.Xaccel.cache
    unix-prompt> rm AcceleratedX/monitors/.Xaccel.cache
============================================================

Slackware is basically the default installation from the
CD. I'm using "xf86config"-utility to write the XF86Config-file.
X-windows starts up but the resolution stays constant at 320x200.
Switching resolutions with  "Ctrl+Alt+ +/-" DOES NOT work.
Escape/kill-sequence "Ctrl+Alt+Bckspace" does work.
The mouse dont move.

What gives?

Max!

<snipped>

XFree-3.3.3 is a plus, but not a requirement.

Hmmm, I'm running 4.1 here. I haven't looked closely, but I assume that
4.12 has a jumbo patch also? When you go to ftp.xig.com, look to see if
there is a specific G200 patch *and* a jumbo patch. I needed both for it
to work properly.

Now that paragraph confuses me. If you are running acelleratedX, you
should be using Xig's Xsetup utility to configure the server. You are
running AX, right?

I just got the same card to work.  you need xfree86 3.3.3.1 you probably
have 3.3.1.
you can just get a few files from www.xfree86.org
I just got:
preinst.sh
postinst.sh
extract
Xbin.tgz
Xdoc.tgz
Xlib.tgz
Xman.tgz
Xset.tgz
XVG16.tgz <- 16 bit server for XSetup
and you need the new SVGA server.
just read the README and the RELNOTES
and then it will work great!
                        good luck

You should get XFree86 version 3.3.3 if you don't already have it. It
supports these Matrox cards:

       MGA2064W (Millennium), MGA1064SG (Mystique and Mystique 220),
MGA2164W (Millennium II
       PCI and AGP), G100, G200

1.1. What's not supported

       Chipsets other than those listed above. We are still interested in
providing support for the other
       Matrox chipsets including the Impression, Atlas, Genesis etc... but
at this time have not been able to
       obtain documentation for them.
       MGA2064W and MGA2164W based cards with ramdacs other than the
TVP3026 RAMDAC (like the
       Matrox Corona) are not supported.
