lpr error, newbea here ???

Post by Everett Hubba » Sat, 01 Mar 1997 04:00:00

thing print.
Command -   lpr /usr/home/me/test.txt     is issued in an xterm window
under either root or my login, the error message is issued -
lpr:cannot create /var/spool/lp1/lp/.seq

I have the book, "Linux Unleashed", and find it confusing.  What is a
good sugar coated book for a raw (frustrated) newbea?
Thank you for any help you might offer.   Everett

I am not sure about a good book, but one thing I would check is to be sure
you have a /var/spool/lp1/lp directory.  It sounds like you are missing the
lp, and maybe the lp1 directory...
