libshadow -- where?

Post by Friedemann Baitinge » Mon, 20 Jul 1998 04:00:00

was just trying to build the latest imapd which wants to link with
'libshadow'. I can't find libshadow on my S.u.S.E 5.2 installation. Does
anybody have an idea where a libshadow binary can be obtained?

It comes with the Shadow Password Suite distribution.  You can get
it from Sunsite.  It is included in a number of popular distributions
as well.

1. shadow 3.3.2 libshadow.a getpass bug.

I discovered a nasty grelim in libshadow.a when trying to get vlock to work and
it is *very* nasty. When return generates /r (as when is the case when I run
vlock) the call to fgets does not realise it is the end of the line and you
therefore can not enter the correct password. This is serious, please fix!
(I have put a kludge it but an official fix would be better).

Also what are the securiy issues affect access to /dev/console? Mine is always
owned by whoever ran X last, mode crw--w--w-. Please reply by email to
