look for a line in your system startup script file /etc/rc.d/rc.M:
/bin/setterm -blank 15
and nuke it

Anyone have any hints or solutions toward disabling or turning off the
screensaver during such a process as watching movies with mplayer? Is
this something that would have to be incorporated into mplayer itself?
