Epson Stylus Color 300

Hi,

Do you know any way to setup my RH 6.0 Linux to print on this printer ?
I have used 'printtool' utility, I choosed 'uniprint' and 'any Epson
Stylus' but it doesn't work; the output from printer is only some sheets
of characters such.: CR... LF... ASCII...

Or, do you have any experiencies with printing a '*.ps' file via
Ghostview on Windows platform ?

Thank you very much,
MJ

I have zero experience with this model Epson. MAYBE this is helpful, though. I have

the 740 Epson, and there are several uniprint drivers avaiable for Epsons in the

Ghostscript stuff, and several more out on the web. Some of these produced ascii garbage

with my 740, so maybe try some of the others. STCANY did not work for me, the one that

did I think, was something like stc600, or some such. Point is, try some other drivers.

Maybe you get lucky, have someone with exact same printer point you in right direction

at once. Good Luck! P.S. I just love this 740 on linux, it really looks better than it

does under windoze.

Unfortunately none of the drivers supplied with GS will work with the
ESC 300, although the stcany.upp driver produces useable (but very poor)
output.  I think this is because the printer uses a cut down version of
the ESC/P2 language.  If you get it to go please let me know.

hi,
i faintly remember having read you'd be better off with the "stcolor" driver.
hope it helps,

1. Linux & Epson Stylus Colour 300

Out of interest, does anyone know if there is a ghostscript driver for
the Epson Stylus Colour 300? I personally doubt it, but you never do
know.

I'm not too worried, mind. I've got an old dot-matrix which is much
cheaper to feed anyway. That one definitely isn't a winprinter.
