Star Office and true type fonts

Post by ross » Sat, 13 Mar 1999 04:00:00

I have just installed Star Office (version from PC Plus magazine) on my
Suse Linux 5.3 and dumped ApplixWare. I've put a true type font into all

the / StarOffice directories that contain fonts, assigned the same
permissions and
they seem to be recognised in the directories they've peen put into as
true type fonts. However, the font is not available in Star Office.

There seems to be no facility in the package for installing or assigning

fonts whereas ApplixWare did have a font installer and worked perfectly
in this respect.

Any ideas appreciated.

No wonder as SO does not support tt fonts directly.

psetup can add and remove fonts, but you need to have type1 fonts to get
it working.

However, converting TrueType fonts to Type1 is not very difficult. If you
want to do it, I can send you instructions how to do it.

1. Configuring Star Writer to use True Type Fonts

Hello.

I would like to configure Start Writer in Star Office 5.1 to use true
type fonts, but cannot figure out how to do it.

I'm using Red Hat 6.1 and have successfully installed xfstt 1.0.

I'd appreciate any advice.

Thanks in advance.

Regards.
