Greetings,

We are trying to install the Caldera Red Hat distribution. Here is the
setup:

1.2Gb on primary ide (2 partitions: 50M linux swap, remainder linux
native)
1.6Gb on secondary ide (2 partitions: 50M dos {for LILO}, remainder
win95)

IT WORKED FINE!!! I was able to boot both OS's. BUT, after I tried to
enable the swap partition with "mkswap", I could no longer boot into
win95 via the DOS partition. LILO will still let me load linux, but
when I choose DOS, it says "loading DOS" and hangs.

We installed lilo in the boot sector of the 1.2 Gb drive. I
have tried rerunning LILO- no luck. It says linux and DOS added, but still
doesn't work. If only the DOS/win95 disk is on the primary controller, the
machine will boot DOS (but doesn't automatically run win95, as it did
before). "fdisk" shows the appropriate partitions as bootable.

Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!

My idea - after having failed some multiboot installations,
is that DOS/Win95 always seeks their system files on the active
boot partition on Primary Master - but still wish to hear other
experiences that can confirm or contradict it...

I am a bit uncertain if I really have understood how your system is;
for instance, I could not understand why you had a DOS partition for
LiLo. Did you say that both partitions on the second drive were active
boot partitions ?
