I have a big problem.
In the past I've had Linux installed (Red Hat, Slackware) and I've never
had any more than the regular problems.
However once I purchased my HP 7200 Cd-Writer the installation I had on my
hard drive then would keep rebooting whenever I tried to boot into linux.
I figured this was just a problem to do with recognizing the new drive.
So I trashed the linux partition and tried to install again. But now, no
matter the distribution, the computer reboots during install. I've tried
disconnecting the HP 7200 but to no avail, the problem persists.
My IDE settings are as follows:
Primary Master: Hard Drive (4.3 gig quantum bigfoot)
Primary Slave: ATAPI CD-ROM
Secondary Master: HP 7200
Secondary Slave: None
I have a K6 233 with 64 MB RAM.
I just can't figure out what's causing the problem. I assumed it was the
burner but now I just don't know.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jay Brushett
