Signal 7 error termination

Signal 7 error termination

Post by Harry Hahn » Sun, 31 Dec 1899 09:00:00

I am trying to install RedHat 6.1 on a 386 with 9MB memory, Mitsumi CD-ROM,
Intell EtherExpress Pro/10 and GVC NE2000 compatible network cards and a IDE
hard drive.

In order to install I needed the "drivers disk" from the RedHat Web site
(which was strangely not on the CD-ROM).

I am installing with the text installer and have selected the CD-ROM and
network drivers successfully.  The system reports that it found the network
cards and it is reading things off the CD-ROM successfully.

After some churning the install exits abnormally with a "received signal 7"
error mesage.

The install log is at the point where there are the following lines:

<6>raid0 personality registered
<6>raid1 personality registered
<6>raid5 personality registered

What is this "signal 7" and how can I get past this point?

Take a look at:

Hope this helps.  Good Luck!

Signal 7 error termination

Just a thought. But, if you have the cdrom, and linux can see it and
install from it, why do you need to have it recognize your pcmcia card
so early. Save that for later.
