Greeting -
I am attempting to install Slackware v 2.x on an IBM Thinkpad utilizing a straight IDE boot image. The boot
successfully recognizes my HD geometry and returns the following:
---------
Partition Check:
hda: hda1
----------
VFS: Insert root floppy
After initiating the root image floppy, I am recieving the following message:
----------
VFS: Cannot open root device 02:1c
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 02:1c
----------
I have partitioned my HD via DOS FDISK to include one small active DOS partition. It is my understanding that
Linux will handel the partitioning of the remaining disk space.
Thanks for your help,
