Are you using XFree86, version 3.3.3.1 and the XF86_Mach64
X - server ?

ATI Mach64VT + SONY 15sf Problems

Post by John H. Nguy » Sun, 18 Jul 1999 04:00:00

Howard,

Yes I am using XFree86 3.3.3.1 and XF86_Mach64, which in Redhat 6.0 supports
the ATI Mach64 VT (264VT) chip.  I also had X working previously with sony
CPD15sf1 and an old S3 chipset using the following sync rate:

horizontal 31.5-64.3
vertical 5-120

I am a bit confused why it is not working now.  The problem is that there is
screen "snow" and a little bit of "double vision".

Thanks for the reply and the web reference,
John

1. ATI Mach64VT + SONY 15sf Problems

Hi folks,

I'm trying to get X to work with an ATI Mach64VT 2mb (newly supported in
RedHat 6.0) with an old Sony Multiscan 15sf (no longer appears in the monitor
list of Xconfigurator).  I know what monitor settings worked for me before:

Horiz refesh: 31.5-64
Vertical refresh 50-120

However, this setup doesn't seem to work well.  Half of the screen looks
"fuzzy", like static.  The other half of the screen looks perfectly fine. Does
anyone use this card/monitor combination? Has anyone heard of a problem like
this?  Answers or insights are appreciated!

Thanks,
John
