Printer error in RH5.2 (Canon BJC-4100)

Post by mur.. » Tue, 20 Jul 1999 04:00:00

I get the following error when I try to print a postscript file on my
Canon BJC 4100 printer. ( I have selected BJC-600 BJC-4000 as the input
filter, and I have RH5.2)

Unrecoverable error: rangecheck in .putdeviceprops
(1488)op_array(486)0x817b0d4:Execution stack at 0x813ccc8

I have tried printing a test postscript page as well as a file from gv
and get the same result. If the Canon drivers have been updated, could
someone let me know where to pick it from?

thanks
murli

Try deleting the  bitsperpixel  line in /var/spool/lpd/lp/postscript.cfg.
That worked for me.    I think this bug in the driver was fixed in RedHat
6.0.

Thanks for the reply,

Actually, I was missing all the gs options in postscript.cfg. I have set
bitsperpixel=1 and BW pages print OK with 360X360 resolution. (my
printer is Canon BJC4100)
