multisession failing with HP8250i,RH6.1

Hello,

I've gotten my HP8250i IDE CDRW to burn CDRs, but it fails on
attempts to burn in multisession mode.  There are two points
in the process where this failure occurs.  On the first session,
the failure is after cdrecord has identified the medium and
is about to start the burn.  On CDs with existing sessions
(in MS mode), the failure is when mkisofs attempts to get
session info.  I'm running on Redhat 6.1, kernel arguement
of "append hdc=ide-scsi" in lilo, fstab entry allows me to
read CDs on that drive, boot messages indicate the drive is
on a scsi controller, and I can burn single session CDs with
it.

I'm wondering if there is something else I was supposed
to do to configure the system to use the HP8250i.  I can't
imagine there is a driver (eg. proprietary command) problem,
but the fact that I can get a single session burn to work
is odd enough to make me wonder.  Can someone tell me what
these messages mean?

1. Fail to install RH6.0 via Winnt-FTP reading from RH6.0 CDROM?

I have tried install RH6.0 on a computer without CDROM,but it can connect
to a winnt server via FTP and can read CDROM. This computer is ok to boot
from a "bootnet" diskete ,find the FTP server and installed continued.
But just when it started to copy files,it showed a message "Can not find
file xxxx.1.xx.RPM".

Oh,Oh. Then I opened the CDROM folder on WinNT, I found  all files on
RH6.0 CDROM have only DOS 8.3 names.

So I am fail to install RH6.0 by doing as above. BUT when I browesd my
RH6.0 CDROM on a Unix computer, it shows all LONG file names well !!!

I can not figure out why and what happened. Anybody has ideas about this
and can help me?

Thanks
