I have just upgraded my kernel from 2.0.0 to 2.0.27 and I found
that after I got my SB 16 sound card works, I don't have the
Type 6: SoundBlaster 16bit
when I "cat /dev/sndstat" but before the upgrade I have this type. I just
want to know is my sound card is not working at 16bit.
Besides, when I first got my linux, I set the irq to 7 of my SB
16 sound card (it is PnP). Later I install win95 and then I want to
upgrade to 2.0.27. Initially, I could not got my sound card work due to
invalid irq value. But when I reboot the system using old kernel, the
soundcard work at irq7.
Later, I look the irq of my SB16 in win95 and found that it is
irq 10 and after I use this value, my SB 16 works. I just wonder why I
can use irq 7 of my old kernel but not in the new kernel.
Any suggestion and help are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
