Here is a problem for your consideration:
The setup:
Display: NEC NL8060AC26 800x600 TFT (used in some IBM ThinkPad)
Video Chip: Trident * 9820
OS: Redhat Linux 6.0
The problem:
The image is larger than the phisical display (thus I cannot see, or
access the menu at the bottom of the screen)
I managed to trace this problem and elliminate the virtual screen issue.
I think I'm down to having the incorrect Modeline, and in particular the
wrong refresh frequencies.
Right now I have the following options:
Modeline "800x600" 36 800 824 896 1024 600 601 603 625
Modeline "800x600" 40 800 840 968 1056 600 601 605 628 +hsync +vsync
Modeline "800x600" 50 800 856 976 1040 600 637 643 666 +hsync +vsync
Can anybody suggest a good Modeline for an 800x600, or maybe some other
fix to this problem? (BTW, what are the three numbers in Modeline
following the height and width of the screen?)
Any help would be greatly appreciated
