Slackware96 vs. RedHat 4

Slackware96 vs. RedHat 4

So can anyone compare these two distributions?

I personally have only installed RedHat4.  I've seen many redhat questions
on this newsgroup but not so many about slackware.  Is this a sign that
Slackware is easier to set up?

Redhat was easier to setup, but I've found Slackware to be
more complete.  Why, I couldn't even find Workman on the
3.0.3 Redhat distribution CD.  I've had to pull several other
items from the net as well.  If we could merge the ease of
RedHat installation with the completness of Slackware we'd
have something to really crow about.

I've intalled slackware 3.0 & 3.1 a zillion times, on all sorts of machines
in all sorts of ways. It's a seamless install every time.

I tried installing RedHat once and Debian once.....yecch.

1. RedHat4 vs Slackware96 vs Debian vs ..

Hi,

im a newbee to linux.  I need to install it on our PC workstations to run
neuro simulation software and statistical parametric mapping applications.
Most of our workstations have the following config:

Tyan Titan Pro DUAL P Pro 200Mhz 64MB
Adaptec 2949 PCI UW
2x Quantum Altas 4.3GB
Pioneer CD D433 (10x)
Matrox Millenium 4MB

Which of the various Linux 2 distributions (Slackware96, RedHat4, Debian or
SUSE 4.3) are suited best for such a config and are easy to install (and
upgradeable)  using an plug and play installer ( i dont want to become not
a unix wiz )

Greetings
