Creative Labs CD 2X Problems...

Post by Mike R. Lyo » Wed, 06 Dec 1995 04:00:00

Hello,

I finally got a CD-ROM for my PC only to find out that my Slackware
Linux dist. doesn't recognize it.  I've tried many boot disks with no
luck auto-probing for my CD-ROM and tried to specify my I/O address
manually and still nothing works.

I am using one of the newer Creative Labs 2X CD-ROMs (model MK4015 w/
just an interface card, no sound).  I know of at least 3 other people
with CL CD-ROMs that have similar auto-probing problems (not sure what
models though...).  Does anyone out there have any suggestions or know
of any recent FAQs to go to for CL compatability?  ANYTHING would be
greatly appreciated.

Please email (or post, if you think others might be interested) at

Thanks for the help...

1. RedHat 4.1 installation and Creative Labs 2x CD-ROM won't work!!!!

Hi,
I am trying to install RedHat Linux onto a fresh computer.
When I choose Sound Blaster/Panasonic for my CD-ROM drive, it fails to
mount.  The drive is a Blaster CD 2x.  It runs on it's own interface
card.  I try to autoprobe, but it doesn't work.  Should I set this up
on my own?  If so, what parameters should I set it for?  Please, any
help would be very much appreciated.
